Scotty
is the "crazy" one of the critically acclaimed "Colorado
Cowboys for Jesus", one of
the premier cowboy gospel groups in the country. After
spending twenty-nine years as the resident
emcee and storyteller at the world famous "Flying W Ranch"
in Colorado Springs, Colorado, He
answered God's call to step out into ministry and became
a founding member of the "Colorado
Cowboys for Jesus" as well as the senior pastor at the
Cowboy Church at the Flying W Ranch.
He is also the founder of "Cowboy Up", a men's outreach
of Life Network.
He has been called "a big man with a big heart" who is
an accomplished cowboy singer, songwriter,
comedian, author, and speaker. His genuine, homespun,
cowboy style and easy going humor, which
usually pokes right back at himself, has warmed the hearts
of audiences from Carnegie Hall in New
York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. to
the county fairgrounds and little country
churches where he grew up in the heartland of America.
He is a true man of the west who wears his
Christian faith and values on his shirtsleeve and is never
shy about sharing them in his performances.
"I was a late bloomer and a slow learner, and I was thirty
years old before I found a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ and asked Him into my heart.
I had certainly 'wreaked a trail of havoc'
up to that point, and I had created a lot of wreckage
for the Lord to clean up. Since then I've had a
front row seat as, by the grace of Jesus Christ, I have
been forgiven, healed, and put back
on the trail of life."
Scotty and his lovely wife Cindy live in Colorado Springs,
Colorado, and thoroughly enjoy their new
roles as "Papa" and "Nana." "There's a special little
bundle of love in the corner of your heart that the
Lord doesn't even open up until you become a grandparent,"
Vaughn says, "and it just keeps growing
with every new grandbaby."
"Every bit of my life that is of value I owe to the redemption
of Jesus Christ."
His mercies are new every morning, and I thank God that
He has truly repaid the years that the
locusts have taken."
"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,
who has given me strength, that he considered me
faithful, appointing me to his service. Even though I
was a blasphemer and a
persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because
I acted in ignorance and
unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly,
along with the
faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."
